Master's level sociology graduates who choose not to enter the academic world discover a wide range of career opportunities. Government agencies, planning and social service agencies, hospitals, the justice system, private enterprises and research centers look to sociologists with advanced degrees to conduct their major research projects and policy initiatives. Many work as professional consultants or as “clinical sociologists” working in multidisciplinary teams in a variety of settings.

There are many advantages to studying in the Applied Sociology Program at the University of Indianapolis. Some of these include:

  • Cross culture comparative studies
  • Small classes and individualized instruction
  • Flexible scheduling of classes and evening courses
  • Practicum opportunities (field placement)
  • Integration of pure and applied science
  • Practicing professionals as adjunct faculty and guest lecturers
  • Modern laboratory, research, and library facilities
  • Extensive computer facilities available
  • Personalized supervision and accessible faculty
  • Interactive learning opportunities
