  • Courses with field trips.
  • Flexible scheduling of courses in both day and evening settings gives you time for other activities.
  • Nontraditional courses in our Spring Term.
  • Practicum and internship (Field Placement) provide you with the opportunity to combine your classroom knowledge with current practice in a variety of community-based settings.
  • Preparation for professional training (law, social work, archaeology, urban planning, correction, geriatrics, youth counseling, etc.).
  • Integration of pure and applied science will prepare you for either graduate study or employment opportunities.
  • Laboratory facilities enable you to improve your clinical and research skills.
  • Extensive computer facilities allow you to have access to your peers, to information about Social Sciences, to various Social Science tutorials, and to word processing and other helpful programs.
  • Personal supervision and access to faculty ensures that you will not be just another "face in a crowd" of Social Science students.
  • Teaching is our primary mission. The faculty at the University of Indianapolis are dedicated teachers who regularly receive high ratings from students on their yearly evaluations of classroom performance.
  • Practicing professionals as adjunct faculty and guest lecturers.
  • Research experiences are available to help you gain further preparation for either graduate school or employment in the field of sociology. The graduate programs require the completion of a Master's thesis.
